Rightfully so, because you’re in for a treat. New year, new you, new interior designs? Yes and no. One thing for sure, the Year of the Rat is holding something special for you and me. In detail Read on to learn about the top interior design trends to look for in 2020. ## Art Deco Revival Equally important sooner or later, everything old is eventually new again, right? Art Deco is not new. Not at [all](https://www.ilustraviz.com/portfolio-types/all/). Even its comeback isn’t really new. It’s been trendy in 2019 and before, and it’s not going anywhere in 2020. Of course art Deco is glamorous and playful yet with a minimalist twist. It’s still [all](https://www.ilustraviz.com/portfolio-types/all/) over social media – be it a fashion model’s background or a neat 3d model render because Art Deco is here to stay in 2020. Besides I don’t blame you if you feel like we had enough of it this time around, but nothing has the staying ability that mid-century modern has. There is clearly something romantic about its throwback to one of the most inspiring, narcissistic and glamorous periods in design history. Just look at it! It’s clean yet witty, light but charismatic. One thing for sure: it’s never boring. Because In this situation The signs of Art Deco are standing out in detailing on chairs, coffee-tables, chandeliers, and the brave yet natural color combinations on the walls and seaters. The new art deco has its own twist to it, though. It’s filtered through the contemporary freshness and playfulness. That is why we highlight the style of Art Deco as the new mid-century modern interior design trend of the coming year. Look to see it’s many faces in 2020’s projects: in built and in [3d interior renders](https://www.ilustraviz.com/3d-furniture-renders-white-background-or-lifestyle-images/). ![](https://ilustraviz.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/3-Interior-design-trends-to-look-for-in-2020-house-in-3D-1024x683.jpg) ## Biophilia in Design Yes, that’s exactly what you think it is. Biophilia is about incorporating nature into your [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) or workspace. Is it new? Well, we’ve lived with planters forever. Now it’s just growing into a much bigger architecture and interior design trend. To be sure the reason Biophilia is entering our homes and offices is very simple. It’s actually purely practical. Studies have shown that biophilic design can increase focus and attention to details, reduce stress, and increase productivity. Eventually how does Biophilia appear in the new construction and interior architectural renderings? Here at Ilustraviz Studio, we noticed many faces of this trend, but to name a few: huge windows, clusters of plants, natural materials, and warm natural colors. You’ll see it in the contemporary [office](https://www.ilustraviz.com/portfolio-types/office/) spaces of 2020: large windows let in lots of natural light and provide ample views of the outdoors, the accent wall is finished in natural wood or stone, and green leafy plants fill in every unused space. Finally biophilia is good for you. It lets you be surrounded by nature, even if you are indoors most of the time. That is why you will see it a lot in the year 2020. ![design](https://ilustraviz.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/3-Interior-design-trends-to-look-for-in-2020-house-breakfast-1024x578-1.jpg) ## Functionality In conclusion Let’s be honest, our bread and butter here at Ilustraviz is [3d](https://tallbox.co.uk/guide-3d-rendering-interior-design-improve-profits/) visualization and rendering [services](https://www.ilustraviz.com/services/). The fruits of our labor have to look extremely nice. However, this interior design trend is not just about the looks. You must have heard that classic saying “form follows function,” haven’t you? That’s what this trend is about. One of the ways Functionality will make its appearance in the designs of 2020 is in [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) offices. Let’s face the truth, nowadays professionals work from [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) more often than ever, and the pace of [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) [office](https://www.ilustraviz.com/portfolio-types/office/) additions is not going to slow anytime soon. Contemporary homes are simply becoming multifunctional. Even if you have to commute to work every day, chances are your family members could work from [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) very soon if they aren’t already. Another great example of the heavy Functionality intrusion into our lives is the growing popularity of small spaces. Both apartments and workplaces are shrinking in size, and it’s becoming more of a norm. “Why pay for the space you don’t use?” we tend to ask ourselves both at [home](https://www.ilustraviz.com/slide-types/home/) and at work. We’d rather put that money into better use. It actually goes hand in hand with minimalism: keep only what is important, because it’s functional! What is your take on the Interior Design Trends of 2020? Which one are you’re looking forward to the most? Drop us a line – it’s always a pleasure to talk to a fellow interior design fanatic!
